Now that we’re starting to emerge from the pandemic that has controlled our lives for the past fifteen months, we are all yearning to get to our new “normal,” and gather for worship and fellowship. Over these past grueling months, Rev. Eric, the UUFoM Covid-19 Task Force, and the Board have tried to be nimble, and have made decisions based on science, with an eye towards keeping our most vulnerable people safe. All the while, situations were constantly changing.
Now we’d like to hear from you about your needs, your desires, your dreams for a way forward and how we can make that happen. Rev. Eric and the Board will be hosting small group listening sessions in the upcoming weeks. Please be on the lookout for an opportunity to sign up for one of these gatherings. Proposed dates are Sunday morning, June 27 (we will be joining the virtual General Assembly service at noon instead of our usual 10:30 service), Monday evening, June 28, Tuesday evening, July 6, and Wednesday evening, July 7.
Here’s a quote from Circle of Care, by Rev. Lisa Bovee-Kemper: “In this circle of care, we make space for the complexity of life, the myriad experiences that bless and break our hearts. The truth of human experience dictates that on any given day, we each come to the table with hearts in different places. . . . There is room for all in this circle.”
May we continue to hold each other in our hearts with love.
In gratitude and service,
Beth Sperry
Board President
