The UUFoM Board has approved a proposal for a Bylaws change for consideration by the membership in the 2022 October Annual Meeting of the Fellowship.  This amendment is presented to eliminate the “members affirmed” reference to individuals that are unable to pledge financially, but that have indicated they wish to become members or retain membership.

Proposed Amendment:

ARTICLE III. MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. Eligibility

Membership in the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Midland is open to all persons who sign the membership book and annually affirm their agreement with the spirit and purpose of the Fellowship.  There will be no creedal test of any kind applied. Membership is open to persons at least 16 years of age regardless of ability or disability, race, ethnicity, sex, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin. Persons under age 16 who have completed a congregational Coming of Age program will be eligible to become members.

Active membership entails contributing financially as well as through volunteer effort. Persons who are unable to contribute financially but who formally indicate their wish to maintain membership in the Fellowship by responding to the annual pledge form will have full membership privileges.
