Our Director of Education, Monica Hughes, will be stepping down from her position on August 6 to pursue full time work in her field of study (business), hopefully for a local nonprofit. Monica hit the ground running and she hasn’t stopped since before her first day at UUFoM. Here is a brief list of her many accomplishments in the short time she’s been here. 

• created a safe and comfortable environment for all
• hired our amazing nursery caregiver, Abbey
• developed the curriculum “Kids Creating Change”
• organized games, paperwork, curriculums, art supplies, and costumes
• monthly specials for RE Youth (Leaman’s Apple Barn, movie nights, etc.)
• created the first Fairy Tea Party
• created the first Family Fun Day & Community Open House
• moved the Nursery to the upper level for all children and youth can interact with each other
• developed dynamic and interactive activities for each lesson.

Thanks to Monica, RE has flourished. Though she will no longer be working at UUFoM, long-time members Monica, Scott and their kids will still be around – just not EVERY Sunday!
