September 2023 – Religious Education
The Gift of Welcome
September 10
“Merging Streams” – Join us for an all-ages water communion service. Help us welcome one another by bringing water that represents important experiences you’ve had in the past year. Will include plenty of music and a “backpack blessing” for all learners returning to school. Led by Rev. Eric Severson and DRE Jennifer Page.
September 17
“The Work of a Wider Welcome” – We explore the way our faith calls us to be open and welcoming to everyone, and at the same time acknowledges that this does not happen easily. We must work at being welcoming, and at times, that can be both a challenge and a comfort.
September 24
“Welcoming Change” – We explore being open to and welcoming in change. Along the way, we will use the Autumnal Equinox to help us. The Autumnal Equinox is all about welcoming change. It marks the start of fall in the Northern Hemisphere and spring in the Southern Hemisphere. Besides marking the changing seasons, it also marks the shift when daytime (and light) becomes shorter than nighttime (and the dark).
