Join the new Anti-Racism Reading Discussion Group this September! Anti-racism is a journey. Opening our awareness to our privilege and the structural racism around us is an on-going process. The group will select its book, with an emphasis on non-fiction. It’s an open group, feel free to join a meeting that looks interesting. The initial meeting will be September 24, at 12:15 PM, downstairs in the Youth Room at the fellowship and meet every month or every other month alternating between in person and zoom.
Beginning with “How to be an Anti-Racist,” by Ibram X. Kendi, we will discuss chapters 1-9. This book is a provocative starting point, as Kendi shares his journey to awareness about anti-racism as a Black man during the 1990s and beyond.
So, get a copy of “How to be an Anti-Racist,” and watch the eNews for more information for the initial meeting. If you have questions, please contact Susan Mayer or Jennifer Streid-Mullen.
Please sign up for the initial meeting. Childcare is offered.
