A Reflection of Service

by Lisa Janetski
Hello everyone, I’m Lisa Janetski and I just finished my first two-year term as a member-at-large on the board of directors.

My role on the board was mainly to support the work of the board. We started a Vision/Mission restatement journey that is near and dear to me, along with many other projects that I was able to vote for, as the board continued to make improvements on the building and connecting our fellowship community with other local charities and organizations that share our values.

Some of the challenges that I faced were balancing my volunteer time with my work, school, and family responsibilities. Because this was my first time serving the fellowship in this capacity, I was challenged to find my niche and role with the board. I believe that I did that.

I learned a lot about myself and about the fellowship during the past two years. We worked on many important projects, and I value the time that I spent with others of like-mind working together for the good of our community.

During my tenure, I witnessed the board’s continuous efforts to make positive changes within our fellowship. Through our collaborative projects and initiatives, we have strengthened our community ties and made meaningful strides in aligning our vision and mission with the needs of our members and the community at large.

As I conclude my term, I am grateful for the opportunity to have served on the board of directors. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and look forward to continuing my involvement with the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Midland in new capacities.
