Minister’s Reflection (October 2024)

October 2024
Hi, all. I realize that I have gone three months since providing a newsletter column, and I apologize for being less communicative. I attribute this to several crises I have been handling since the summer, all of which are slowly being resolved. Again, my apologies.

We are approaching a new era — one in which fellowship members will vote on new vision and mission statements (on October 20!), which in turn will help determine our programs, budgeting, and direction for the next several years. I am excited and grateful that we have reached this milestone, because I want Unitarian Universalism to stay relevant to you, our congregants, and to our little corner of the world.

And I want to acknowledge that change often is not easy, so the board, staff, and I will do what we can to communicate early and often about upcoming plans. You can expect us to ask for your opinions on some things, and don’t be too surprised when we “give this a try” now and then.

There is plenty of anxiety in the system already, with the 2024 elections right around the corner, so please offer yourself and others patience and grace in the coming months.

I am available if you would like to chat. The easiest way to set up a time is through this Calendly link, or just email, call, or text me.

Blessings,
Rev. Eric Severson
