Sunday Morning Service at 10:30am
March 1
"Personal Rights and Responsibilities" Many of us take for granted our ability to speak out when we feel the need. But what happens when one's safety, or even life, is threatened? What is the responsible thing to do? What is the right thing to do? Fellowship friend Sohail Qamar, who has traveled with his family to over 33 countries, will share powerful anecdotes about personal rights worldwide and the role of responsibility. Sohail Qamar speaking.

RSVP for Eric's Ordination/Installation
The ordination and installation of John Eric Severson, minister of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Midland, is fast approaching. There are many ways you can help! If you’d like to volunteer your time or talents, please contact Beth Sperry.
If you’d like to contribute financially to the campaign, donations are accepted online or you can write a check payable to UUFoM and write “Severson Ordination Campaign” on the memo line. All checks written to the Fellowship are tax-deductible. Donations in excess of ordination expenses will be split between the Endowment Fund and a local food bank.
Please click here to RSVP by March 8 to both the ceremony (at UUFoM) and the reception dinner (at the United Church of Christ)

Lend a Hand with the Ordination Dinner
The menu is set and most of the organizing is done. We are expecting to serve 125-150 people at Eric's ordination reception dinner. Now we need volunteers to provide appetizers and desserts.
We also need a few main dish cooks, other kitchen helpers (sous chef, anyone?), as well as smilers, chatters, and food servers. (No one will have to bus used dishes, and there is a dishwasher!) If you can help with this special event, please talk with Amy Rogers, Mary Johnson, Vicki Rothhaar, Marsha McDonald, Beth Sperry, or Rosie Mulford. Thank you!

Upcoming Services
March Theme - "Freedom & Responsibility"
March 8
"What Is Freedom For?" Millions fought and died so that we might be free. But free from what? For what? How do we balance freedom and responsibility? Let's move beyond the esoteric to some practical solutions. Led by Eric Severson, Minister.
March 15
"Unless" The beauty and bounty of summer begins with a tiny bud on a branch, or with a tiny plant emerging from a seed and thrusting through the soil to the sun. We will explore the power and responsibility we have as individuals to change the world, for better or worse. Unless we take those first steps, a journey never begins. Join us to find the promise in the word "unless." This is a multigenerational service. Led by Eric Severson, Minister, and Heather Cleland-Host, Director of Lifespan Religious Education.
March 22
"The Credibility Gap" Public figures often make promises they can't keep. But, too often, there also is a gap between our own intentions and actions. Let's consider ways in which we might hold elected officials accountable and improve our own credibility. Led by Eric Severson, Minister.
March 29
"Ordination: Legacies and Opportunities" Under the Unitarian Universalist system of polity, our congregation has the right and responsibility -- the duty and privilege -- to call, ordain, and install its own minister. We've done so multiple times in the past. Let's consider this awesome responsibility as we prepare to do it again, later in the day. Shannon Sonoras, Board President, speaking. (Reminder: Eric Severson's ordination and installation will take place at 3:00pm. RSVP here.)

Mouse Invasion
We have a mouse invasion in the religious education wing where classes are held. We are crating all snacks in sealed plastic containers to keep out the mice. We are also asking everyone to help us!
If you are using food to entice attendees to your meetings, please avoid enticing mice by leaving food and plates. After meetings and/or classes, please empty the trash can in your room if it contains any food remains. Finally, please do not load plates from the coffee hour snacks and take them upstairs for children. These plates are often forgotten and left as an irresistible temptation for mice. Enjoy your snacks downstairs after the service with everyone else! Thank you!
If you have any questions about food waste disposal, please contact Sandy Hay.

Kids' Cookie Hour
Sundays 11:45am to 12:15pm
There will be dedicated tables in the Hall during coffee hour.
The Lifespan Religious Education Team invites one and all to get to know the children of the Fellowship by joining them at dedicated tables during Sunday coffee hour. We will be setting up additional tables for use by children and adults who would like to get to know each other. We would like to have 2-3 adults sitting with the children each week. You can sign up (located at the Events table) or just show up! When you do, introduce yourself and find out the name of your snack companions. Either way, be sure to add your names to the Kids' Cookie Hour table mats! For questions, see Heather Cleland-Host, Director of Lifespan Religious Education.
